The ride-or-die list:

These are books that had a tremendous positive impact on me.

Eckhart Tolle’s books are books that I read over and over again and always get more and more out of them with each re-read.

Don Miguel Ruiz’s The Four Agreements is so simple yet so profound.

Brené Brown is the G.O.A.T. for a reason. These are just two of my favorite books of hers. Atlas of the Heart is one that I think every person should read, and one my therapist recommends to her clients.

Jen Sincero’s books are like conversations with your best, most badass friend. Her books are just so good I don’t even know where to start. They give you insight, journal prompts, and a kick in the butt to get out of your own way and live life as the badass you were always meant to be!

All of these books are ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!

  1. The Power of Now — Eckhart Tolle
  2. A New Earth — Eckhart Tolle
  3. The Four Agreement — Don Miguel Ruiz
  4. The Atlas of the Heart — Brené Brown
  5. The Gifts of Imperfection — Brené Brown
  6. You are a Badass — Jen Sincero

Self-Help & Self-Love

Homecoming, is another must read. I devoured this book quickly, because I could not put it down! Dr. Thema Bryant has been a psychologist for 20+ years and lays out how she coaches her patients to come home to themselves. Each chapter ends with a quick “homework,” which I really loved that brings all the lessons from that chapter together. I really could talk about this book all day long. It is just *chefs kiss*.

Anxiety Rx, by the incredible Dr. Russel Kennedy who is not only a physician but a neuroscientist AND certified yoga and meditation teacher. His approach to actually healing anxiety is contrary to most Western Medicines approach which just try to alleviate the symptoms of anxiety. Kennedy believes in a “neck down” approach to healing anxiety vs. a “neck up” approach. His “ABCs” of healing anxiety are not a quick fix, but a lifestyle that has been such a blessing for me. Feeling my anxiety in my body vs. thinking about it (which was making it worse for me) and then utilizing his strategies is something I swear by. This book is another must read in my opinion.

The Diet-Free Revolution, is a game changer people! If you grew up in a traditional Western society household there is a good chance you have an interesting relationship with food and possibly body image. I recommend this book to anyone that has struggled with yo-yo dieting in the past and wants to heal their relationship with food, eating, hunger, and themselves. I have always known the BMI scale was bullshit, or as Dr. Conason calls it, “the Bullshit Measuring Index,” she shows you just how devious the diet industry is and how the BMI scale was lowered to push more people to dieting. This book is eye opening, informative, and empowering.

  1. Homecoming — Thema Bryant, PhD ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  2. Anxiety Rx — Russel Kennedy, MD ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  3. The Diet-Free Revolution — Dr. Alexis Conason ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  4. The Highly Sensitive Person — Elaine N. Aron, PhD ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  2. How to Meet Yourself (workbook) — Dr. Nicole LePera ⭐️⭐️⭐️
  3. Badass Habits — Jen Sincero ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  4. Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself — Joe Dispenza ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  5. The Shadow Work Journal (2nd Edition) — Keila Shaheen

Autobiographies of amazing people

  1. Beyond Possible — Nirmal Purja (Nimsdai) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

After watching “14 Peaks: Nothing is Impossible” I KNEW I needed to read Nims book about this massive adventure and about his life. I am almost at a loss for words, which is rare for me, but truly this book is one you just have to read for yourself to believe. You feel unstoppable after reading and so darn inspired. I laughed, I cried, I wanted to climb a mountain (figuratively and literally)…I learned so much and am just so inspired by this man. He has a heart of gold, and more gumption, grit and determination than anyone around. Simply incredible.

  5. A New Earth: Awakening Your Life’s Purpose — Eckhart Tolle ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💕
  6. The Secret — Rhonda Byrne ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💕

I really wanted to make spiritual growth and financial wellness one category, because so many of the books overlap. In this category, we explore meditation and mindfulness practices, finding purpose and meaning, and spirituality in daily life.

Wherever You Go, There You Are is one of those books that is a cornerstone to mindfulness and meditation books. It’s a book that helped me find peace and how to weave mindfulness into my daily life. Every time I wash dishes, or clean the stove, etc. I think of what I learned from this book and use these chores as opportunities to be fully present.

The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success is one of my absolute favorite books. It is a very short book, but its contents pack a mighty spiritual punch. I have listened to this audiobook and read the book multiple times in the same month, it is that profound! As the title states, it outlines the seven spiritual laws of success: The Law of Pure Potentiality; The Law of Giving (& Receiving); The Law of Karma; The Law of Least Effort; The Law of Intention and Desire; The Law of Detachment; The Law of Dharma. Following these universal laws will absolutely lead you to success!
